LIMINALITY

Liminality is a series of photographic portraits narrating, in the manner of classical altarpieces, the three stages of a rite of passage. These rituals of initiation into adolescence mark the death of childhood and subsequent rebirth into adulthood.

Liminality is the stage of ambiguity or disorientation when the initiate no longer exists in their pre-ritual status but has not yet attained their new stature. They stand at the Threshold, as if in limbo.

In this work the body is submerged in an immutable and infinite water, as if in a matrix, without limit and without reference to time or space.
Perceived from up close and from far away, the body shares the Experience of its transformation in an oniric incubation.
